This store was formerly a Dominick's grocery store, which closed December 28, 2013. It was bought by Jewel-Osco and reopened in the following summer with a new renovation, but despite the closure and subsequent sale, the Village still had to honor an incentives contract to Safeway (the owners of Dominick's) for putting a new store in town. Thankfully, this worked itself out when the parent company of Jewel-Osco bought Safeway.
