place with historical importance, historic district
Normandie Court is a collection of 16 petite houses built by F.E. Corson and C.R. Hudson in 1926 and is designated an historic resource by the City of Redlands. A fine example of French "Chateaux" Eclectic architecture, Normandie Court is one of many neighborhoods in southern California that became a design trend in the 1920's and 30's and was primarily influenced by those who served in Europe during the first world war. Similar architecture can be found in cities such as Carmel, Hollywood, San Leandro and Berkeley, both in the form of organized developments and individual structures. See storybookers.com.
