Max Ernst Museum (Брюль)

Germany / Nordrhein-Westfalen / Bruhl / Брюль / Comesstraße, 42

The collection of the Max Ernst Museum Brühl of the LVR is devoted almost exclusively to the work of Max Ernst and comprises around 2,040 exhibits. Paintings and lithographs by Max Ernst's fourth wife, Dorothea Tanning, further enrich the collection. The collection also includes around 900 photographs by world-famous photographers such as Man Ray, Henri Cartier Bresson, André Rogi and Lee Miller. The collection originated with a donation by Max Ernst himself to his hometown of Brühl in 1969. Subsequently, in 1980, the Max Ernst Cabinet was founded in the city, which expanded its holdings of prints and paintings.
