William McKinley Assassination Site (Buffalo, New York)

Formerly the site of the Temple of Music at the Pan-American Exposition, it was at this location on the 6th of September 1901 that anarchist Leon Czolgosz shot and mortally wounded President William McKinley as he greeted the public.

McKinley was later moved to the home of John Milburn on Delaware Avenue, where he died of his wounds eight days later. Today, the site is marked with a commerative stone which reads:

"In The Pan-American Temple Of Music Which Covered This Spot President Mckinley Was Fatally Shot Sept. 4, 1901 This Marker Placed By The Buffalo Historical Society"
