Built in 1948, by Newton T. Bass and Bud Westlund, on 28 of the most beautiful acres in the High Desert, The Historic Apple Valley Inn has long been a watering hole for famous personal longing for a respite from their hectic and hurried, everyday lives. At one time an actual Inn, The Historic Apple Valley Inn is now a Business Center with Retail and Office space available, but we haven't forgotten our roots in fine dining and we now serve Dinner and Sunday Brunch, in addition to our role as the Victor Valley's most beautiful Event Center.

Bob Hope, in his article "The Hope Happiness Formula" in the Los Angeles Examiner's 'The Golden Land of Apple Valley California' section, makes his love of time spent in "The Bob Hope Cabin" (Cabin #153) at The Historic Apple Valley Inn, quite clear --

They've shown me the Seven Wonders of the World, and I've run into fellows who pointed out places they thought qualified for slots eight, nine and ten on that hallowed list... But I'm here to tell you that for pure relaxation, pure joy and untoubled happiness, there is a little saucer of land not 2 hours drive from my home in North Hollywood that measures up to them all.

Irefer to Apple Valley -- where I; and many of my friends have passed some of the happiest days of our lives. (pg.3)

  • I used to stay here as a young child in the 1960's. I have great memories of playing greased watermelon in the pool and horseback riding with dinner on a hay bail. So sad that family didn't do anything with it! I wish I did, but now too dilapidated to do anything.
