This building was constructed by Seth Garodia before independence and donated to Ramjas College Society to serve as the hostel for the students of Ramjas School No. 2 which was the only school at Anand Parvat at that time. The building was named Garodia Hostel. However, the Ramjas Society rented it out to central govt. employees to live there. Seth Garodia's descendants objected and the Ramjas College Society asked the tenants to vacate in 1966. The building remained vacant for many years. Then it was renovated and made a primary school in 1970s. The low-lying land between the bldg. and the road was filled and levelled for vehicles to be parked there. The neem tree in front of the building on the road edge is at least 80 year old. I remember that it was a fully-grown tree in 1956.
