This is the abandoned former state hospital that served the Tampico area. Opened in 1946, it took 13 years to build and was considered very well equipped, with medical teaching facilities.

Closed in the late 1980's, when the new 'Hospital Civil Carlos Canseco' was opened on Av.Ejercito Mexicano, a more central location for the metropolitan area, the old hospital was completely stripped and left to rot.
