Nassau County Police Department's Aviation Bureau Headquaters. The Nassau County Police Air Bureau performs approximately 400 medevac missions a year. The helicopters are operated by a sworn police officer/pilot and sworn paramedics. The NCPD’s four helicopters serve as the last permanently assigned aircraft in a region called the “Cradle of Aviation.”
