  • The well-known place here is the temple for Hanuman, said to be installed by Arjuna, one of the Pandavas, after the Mahabharata war. Sage Vasishta is believed to have installed the idols of the main deity Srinivasa, Padmavathi and Rama-Sita-Lakshmana. About 16 kms from here, is a place called BYRASANDRA which is in between TAYALUR & VKOTA. This place has a very famous temples like SHIVA on top of the hill, Venugopala swami temple in the heart of BYRASANDRA. A famous generous gentleman Sri.GUNDURAO.B.N is from this place. `MOODALABAAGILU' meaning eastern entrance for the state of Mysore (and may be Vijayanagara kingdom) has been transformed into Mulbagal. Apart from famous Hanuman temple, this town has `Someswara' temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Shiva linga here is similar to that at sacred Kasi or Varanasi, a very old temple. Another temple dedicated to Vishnu is the `Vittaleswara'temple and the idol is similar to Panduranga Vittala at Pandarapur in Maharashtra state.This is also very old temple and has a large gopurs and vast kalyani.

  • Mulbagal is home for several ancient mid-sized temples. There are quite a few interesting things about muLabaagilu/muLabaagalu/mulbagal! 1. It's famous for southEkaayi / cucumber :) 2. Also famous for soppu/badanEkaayi(guLLa) 60% people here speak telugu. But they all study in kannada. You can find thousands of kannada teachers in this taluk. Famous kannada poet DV Gundappa was from this place. Other interesting facts/places: 1. Quite a few beedi manufacturing units in and around! 2. kuruDamale 3. guTTa haLLi 4.   • hi friends ,i feel proud because i was born in the great place of mulbagal.it is very historical place ,very famous hanuman temple is there,it is tourist place.it is belong to karnataka but most of them will talk in telgu language.mul is very famous for film talkies.
