"Harry Wheelock completed construction of a one-story brick building in June 1922. It is located adjacent to the east of another building Wheelock constructed at an earlier time (1910), and has a present-day address of 242 Center Street. Upon its completion D.G. "Deke" White moved his barber shop from the Wheelock Building, next door west, into the new structure and resumed business. White remained at this location until his death in February 1938. J.E. McDonald, a local barber, then relocated his shop to this site a month later. In October 1941 Dr. Joseph A. Collins, a chiropractor, purchased the building from Louis Behm, a local realtor. McDonald moved out several months later. Collins doubled the size of the building in August 1942 by adding a twenty-five by twenty-three foot addition onto the back side. Dr. Collins and his son Hubert, also a chiropractor, moved their practice into the newly remodeled structure the following month. They remained in partnership until 1945, when the elder Collins retired, with Hubert continuing the business until his own retirement in 1986. Collins relinquished his practice and sold the building to Terrence Miller in 1986, who continues in business at this location." -Grayslake: A Historical Portrait (1994). Miller Chiropractic is still in business as of 2026.
