Saint Adalbert was a bishop of Prague.
Known in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia by his birth name Vojtěch (Latin: Voitecus), he was a Czech missionary and Christian saint. He was the bishop of Prague and a missionary to the Hungarians, Poles, and Prussians, who suffered martyrdom while trying to convert the Baltic Prussians to Christianity. He is believed to have composed the oldest Czech hymn, "Hospodine, pomiluj ny" (Holy Mother of God), the oldest known Polish hymn, but his authorship has not been confirmed.
The place is located in Saint Stephen's Basilica
