  • I know someone is going to delete my comment here. But I say it and even if one person reads it objectively it will still be a win. America has done more good in our country than any other country in the world. I challenge anyone who can disprove this statement. Not that America is perfect. But then again, who is? Please set aside your prejudice and read objectively: America is responsible for eradication Malaria in Iran. America forced the Russian occupiers out of Azerbaijan after the Stalin had made a decision to not leave. Truman told Stalin, “not withdrawing from Iran mean war with the US.” America has built the most sophisticated plants in Iran, for a small sample look at the Tehran refinery which after over 40 years is still ten times better than Arak refinery which is brand new and has more pollution and other problems than all of the other refineries in Iran combined. American universities were host to 100,000 Iranian students during the 1970s. American people for most part treated Iranians with respect and dignity. I remember clearly during the US hostage crisis in 1979 I was returning to America as a returning student. In Vienna I was insulted and treated like a criminal. But when I got to New York Airport, this is what the US immigration officer told me: “welcome back home son”. Americans like most other people of the world are decent and extremely kind. America is home (vatan) to many nations and people and they are treated for most part with dignity and respect as much as humanly possible. More than one million Iranians are currently residing in America in peace and prosperity. The list can go on and on. Look at the facts and numbers: more Iranians have been killed by our Arab Muslim brothers than by all the other nations of the world combined. The harm that has been inflicted upon our nation by the Russians and British is 1000 times more than the harm we have received from the US. Finally, to make it short, I know very well the mistakes that have been made by the US, and individuals in the US government, that have caused us grievances such as the overthrow of the Prime Minister Mossadegh, and many more perhaps. But we need to look at the world situation. I am not saying we should forgive and forget, but rather I propose that should forgive BUT NOT FORGET. After all we need to be after our national interest, and nothing else. Our national interest is perfectly in line with US and not the Arab, or Islamic world. This was my “2 cents”, please take it for what it is worth
  • Taking of the hostages was disgraceful and barbaric for sure! Can you imagine being held against your will for a long period if time?! That single barbaric act committed by the radicals within the regime did so much damage to Iran's national interests and image abroad no doubt. The responsible parties should have been tried and imprisoned for life! I hope one day, the US and Iran have friendly relations once again. The people of Iran have always liked the American people. The American popular culture has always been the rage in Iran! I yearn to see the day the red carpet rolled out for the next American President in Tehran! I hope my dream will come true.
