It was dedicated to the Smith family on July 4th, 1949, as quoted from the sign "Donated by the Smith Family heirs as a memorial to their parents, John Quincy Adams Smith and Maggie Johnson Smith. Notable citizens and pioneer builders of the early New Carlisle community." Located there is the Tecumseh Trail, and the park is Dog-friendly.
