Four story industrial building constructed in 1916 for box maker Sefton Manufacturing known as the father of the corrugated cardboard box after an employee, Jefferson T Ferres, in 1895 invented a machine which corrugated the medium and affixed both faces. In 1930 Sefton Manufacturing was acquired by the Container Corporation of American which had been formed with the merger several small box manufactures in 1926. Container Corporation of America relocated to Carol Stream in 1962.
