The museum in Wannsee (a district of Berlin) opened on 19 January 1992, located in the former villa of the manufacturer Ernst Marlier (built in 1915), which served as a hotel and meeting place for the SS in the years 1941–1945. The central point of the permanent exhibition is the conference that took place on 20 January 1942 in the former dining room of the villa.
