Site of Metropolitan Water Reclamation District flood mitigation project designed to alleviate flooding in low lying areas adjacent to Midlothian Creek. Commenced in 2022 the $30 million project includes the construction of an 18 acre naturalized wetland area designed to resemble a park-like setting as well as improvements to the Creek where it outlets to the Sag Can Channel. When complete in 2024 it will accommodate a 100 year flood and reduce the flooding danger to approximately 140 acres of land and 91 structures thereby permitting future development.
