  • Dear Sir/ Madam, BULLYING MENACE AT INDUS WORLD SCHOOL, YAPRAL, SECUNDERABAD My son Pavan in Class VIII B is being regularly bullied by a group of miscreants in Indus World School, Yapral, Secunderabad for the past one year. Repeated complaints during parent teacher interactions and verbal complaints to school authorities have fallen on deaf ears. This bullying group is a terror for other children also but IWS denies the existence of such a problem. My son has Asperger Syndrome and is socially awkward (though he topped in three subjects in his class) and is frequently the sufferer at the hands of this group. On 28 Dec 2012 they tried to suffocate him with a polythene bag. We were wondering why Pavan was sad on New Year eve and refused to go for the party where he was to play kolaveri... on his new professional keyboard. He refused to go to school on 1st and 2nd too, but when he went to school on 03 Jan 2012 the same group poured kerosene on him. I fear for the life of my only son. Will IWS wake up only after there is a death. Are other parents blind to this menace or are they waiting for something similar to happen to their children. WHAT ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT I am willing to spend my own money to carry out a sensitization program in the school if the management agrees. • Dear Sir/Madam, I am based in the UK and am planning to move to India. We have a house close by and were considering this school for our son. He too has a milder version of Aspergers...NVLD.I am quite concerned reading this. I hope the school is doing something about this. Dr Sreenivas, I hope this gets resolved soon for your son, otherwise please consider moving him out. I wish you and your son all the very best. Regards, Dr Manoj
