We still don't know how the name "Hanumanpet" came into being. However, the colony was developed solely for the employees working in the DEFENCE Accounts Department, Government of INDIA. Hanumanpet was also referred to as "DEFENCE ACCOUNTS COLONY". Due to the efforts of Hanumanpet Welfare Association and Chaitanya Mahila Mandali, the colony has transformed dramatically. The Hanumanpet Community Hall is the epicentre of various cultural activities and eventful gatherings. Presently people from different occupations, religions, regions have made Hanumanpet their Home. Hanumanpet, today is a developed colony with facilities like Milk Booth, State Bank of Hyderabad, Provisional Stores, Schools, Speciality Healthcare clinics & stores, Boutiques, Beauty Saloons, etc.
