Sundernagar is a beautiful city of HP.It has a colony of the employees of the BSL Project. Beas–Satluj Link, is essentially a power project and diverts 4711 million cum (3.82 MAF) of Beas waters at Pandoh, into the Satluj over 1000-feet drop. The Dehar Power House at this point has an installed capacity of 990 MW, the tail race waters then flows down the satluj and is stored in Bhakra's Gobindsagar Reservoir. The diversion from Pandoh to Dehar is through a 38 km long water conductor system comprising an open channel and two tunnels with a combined length of over 25 km. The total catchement area of Beas and Satluj is 12560 km2 and 56860 km2 respectively.

  • I still cannot forget the memories of my youth spend in the lap of sundernagar one of the prettiest spot in Himachal .I can still smell the freshness and still remeber my first day in MLSM college .Why do the good old days never come back .I miss you sundernagar and avery bit of it I used to stay in S5/9 and my name is Biswajeet Roy(Babu) and my brothers name is Ranjeet Roy, we left Sundernagar in the year 1993 after my fathers retirement from BBMB

  • I lived in Sundernagar from about 1969 to 1977. I remember when the theater was built, and the Sr. Sec School still looks the same (I can see the ramp near the north-west side of the building. One of my favorite places was "Water Works" (I think that was the name of the water purification facility). It had the most beautiful gardens...Lots of memories in Sundernagar...

  • I spent whole my childhood here.....my school sr. sec model school, My college MLSM in chatraukheri....my freinds....all i missed..I am missing my parents too...who are still living in this beautiful town... people are very cooperative here(in sundernagar)...I learn a different culture in sundernagar I think which I was not able to learn anywhere...I am living faraway from sundernagar but still my heart started beating when I listen from someone that he/she belongs to himachal....Love you and miss you my beautiful Sundernagar.

Main sochta tha yanhan ka naam sunder nagar kyon rakha gaya hai par jab yahan par aakar dekha to pata chala ke yahan ka naam sunder nagar kyon rakha gaya. I love this town.... It is realy (sunder Nagar) mean beautiful town.

  • I love Sundar Nagar very much. I was born there at BBMB hospital on 17th Sep. years ago. I still miss Slappar dam where my Dad worked, S-3/203, My school, Gurudwara Sahib, Temple all in the same row, Zero chowk where i was lost one evening. I got married 3 months back and now live in Riyadh with my Dr. Husband.
