Willey Hall (Minneapolis, Minnesota) | university, office building, classrooms

USA / Minnesota / Minneapolis / Minneapolis, Minnesota / 19th Avenue S, 225
 university, office building, classrooms

Strange building that has been the scene of significant interior changes over the last decade. The main floor is composed of a large open area (30ft high ceiling) with study spaces by the wall and large theater-style lecture halls that rise above the open study area. Walking through, the look is very similar to the concourse level of an indoor arena with stadium rows above. Two floors of the adjacent law library can be seen through large glass panels.

The lower level now houses the Minnesota Population Center. Formerly it was a large curved vending area and museum gallery. The Population Center addition filled in this large open vending area and essentially ruined what had been a popular public space.
