Currently a dentist's office, in 1983 this was the location of Herbie's Bar, owned by the unfortunate Herbert Cummings. On April 13, 1983, a Brooklyn man named Charles Dingle entered Herbie's and shot Cummings to death, then held patrons hostage. When Dingle learned that one was a mortician, he ordered her to behead the victim using a steak knife. Dingle, a box containing the head next to him, was arrested two days later in Manhattan and was subsequently sentenced to 25 years to life. The day of his arrest, he (and Cummings) would be immortalized in the infamous New York Post headline "Headless Body In Topless Bar".
