archaeological site, ancient ruins

The ancient settlement of Aloutrene was located near the sources of the Maeander river, on the mounds south of modern Eldere. The surface remains are now largely effaced. The site is also possibly the location of the Soublaion fortress rebuilt by Emperor Manouel I Komnenos in 1175.
