Christ Church (Latin: Ædes Christi, the temple or house of Christ, and thus sometimes known as The House), is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England. As well as being a college, Christ Church is also the cathedral church of the diocese of Oxford, namely Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. The cathedral has a famous men and boys' choir, and is one of the main choral foundations in Oxford. It was founded as the Priory of St Frideswide, Oxford; a house of the Augustinian canons, but was suppressed as a monastic church under Henry VIII's dissolution of monasteries.
