  • The village Kakol is my birth place is about 14km from Ranebennur and is about 24 km from Haveri District Head Quarter on NH4 highway. The village has a population of around 10000. The main occupation of the people is agriculture. The farmers mainly grow Cotton, Jawar, Maize, Chilli as main crops in addition to growing of vagiatbles, bittle leaves (vilyadele). In this village there are four temples, a Kalmeshwar Temple (Shiva temple), Two Anjaneya temples (Hanumantha Devaru) and a Dyamavva Temple (Grama devata temple). Among these temples Kalmeshwara temple is a century old temple built by a Jakanachari. A decade ago, this temples exterior has been rebuilt but interior of the temple is intact. Lord shiva is very beautiful see.
