  • Burlington stone are about the most unorganised quarry company is existance when it comes to things like historical importance. Originally there would have been interesting underground levels, dressing sheds, inclines, even water balance shafts, however most of the buildings have been demolished, the tunnels are now used to pump slurry along and are unpleasant to move around in, and the inclines have simply been turned into roads (thought this was done some time ago!) regards
  • I actually believe that the Low Lord dressing sheds were demolished in the 1970s and that these buildings are much more recent.
