Established in early-July 2000 by original owners Robert John Field and his brother Tim Field, Field's has a tradition of being the premier steakhouse of the Dells.
Customers often say that the "Field’s Experience" begins right at the entrance. Walking into Field’s at the Wilderness starts an immediate excitement that draws you into the premier dining experience before you even sit down at your table.
As you enter through the huge wood and glass doors, you will be warmly greeted and welcomed to Field’s. Our hostess’ are trained to ask for any special requests, check your coat or escort you to our lounge. All of our staff is trained to listen to the customer. Any Field’s staff member will always be willing to help and they are glad you chose Field’s for your dining experience.

A protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, James R. Dresser is known for creating unique and elegant buildings with both stunning visual and structural design.
James R. Dresser has designed multiple buildings in the area. While the Field family can provide the service, recipes, atmosphere and décor to match their high standards, the building needed to match the elegance, uniqueness and dining experience as only Field’s can bring. The architect of this restaurant James Dresser (born [James Robert Dresser] March 17, 1925 in Lafayette, Indiana, but grew up in Portland, Oregon) has passed away on January 23, 2011 at age 85. He also worked in the Corp of Engineers in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He was also the architect of Wisconsin's elegant and unique buildings such as the Lake Geneva Public Library, Beloit Gonstead Clinic, the original Tommy Bartlett's Robot World, and The Del-Bar - both in Wisconsin Dells.
On December 31, 2019, the original owners of this restaurant Robert Field including his brother Tim both retired and handed over operations to Ryan Hasheider, Robert Field's daughter Katie Field, and to The Wilderness Resort property.
