Gerpinnes (French pronunciation: [ʒɛʁ.pin]; Walloon: Djerpene) is a village in the municipality of Wallonia with the same name, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium.
The Marche Sainte-Rolende is held in Gerpinnes. This is one of the fifteen folkloric processions of the Marches de l'Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse that were inscribed by UNESCO in 2012 as a World Heritage Site on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In September, the Marche Saint-Pierre is also held. Only young people and children participate in this variant of the Rolendeprocession. It arose from the ban on the procession in World War II, where a teacher disobeyed and started a procession for children.
