This is an interchange between U.S. Route 52 (Andy Griffith Parkway) and North Carolina Route 89 (West Pine Street / West Independence Boulevard) in Mount Airy, North Carolina. It is has a diamond interchange configuration along southbound U.S. Route 52. In the northbound direction, it is served by a single quadrant roadway in the southeast, which connects to the intersection of West Pine Street and West Independence Boulevard, where Route 89 turns between these two streets. The interchange was first constructed around 1951 as a two quadrant interchange with the construction of the U.S. Route 52 bypass. With the widening of Route 52 around 1969, the west side was modified to its current configuration.
