Operated by the local Wyre Council, the venue plays host to a variety of public events, from Model Railway exhibitions, and CAMRA real ale events, to Antiques and Collectors Fairs.

The Wyre Lounge is an integral feature, and serves a wide range of excellently kept and constantly changing real ales. The staff are helpful and friendly.

One drawback is the olde fashioned opening hours, (it closes daily between 4 and 7pm), this can catch people out, but I understand this is done to discourage undesirable elements from getting pie eyed on alco pops then knocking each other out (not that I would mind that).

For the true afficianados of these indulgences, the Kings Arms is reputedly the place for oxygen theiving numb nuts with pugilistic inclinations.

The Marine Hall's Wyre Lounge has a nice courtyard with views across Morecambe Bay to the Mountains and Fells of the South Lakes. You can see the Isle of Man on a clear day. Relax here with your dog, as the venue is otherwise not dog friendly, this being the only of my criticisms.
