The Munsin Art Gallery was first opened in 1984 celebrating '59 years of Munshin art'.
Munsin returned to Korea from France in 1980 and the museum exhibits his lifetime work on the hill of 51-1 Choosan-dong Masan city in about 2,300 pyong. The wife of Mr. Munsin has been managing the museum since he passed away and in obedience to the will of his lifetime, she donated it to Masan city on June 2003.
The museum was constructed throughout 15 years like Mr. Munshin were sculpturing, grinding and finishing pine trees and hard ebony, which was his main materials for his sculpture pieces.
During this time, he had participated as many as 10 international invitation exhibitions and gained worldwide popularity through the several retrospectives.
