This mile-long stretch of Santa Rosa Avenue is lined on both sides with hundred-plus-year-old deodar cedars. The trees are thickly decorated with multicolored lightbulbs which are lit during the holiday season.

The trees have been lit annually as a Christmas holiday display since 1920. It claims to be the oldest large-scale outdoor Christmas display in the world and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places (1990); it has also been designated California Historical Landmark No. 990 (1990).
