Formerly a Fotomart kiosk. Fotomat was started by Preston Fleet in the 1960s in California, as a chain of drive-up photo development booths where people could drop off their film and pick up the developed pictures the next day and buy film. The booths spread all over the Country, and by 1980 there were over 4,000. Knockoffs of the kiosks even had cameos in movies like Back to the Future and Police Academy. After a little while the booths also offered VHS tapes for rental.

By the end of the 1980s, the technology used to develop film advanced making the booths outdated. Minilabs were showing up in CVS and Walgreens stores and having 24 hour turn around times. Digital photos then completely killed the business. Most of the booths shut down and reopened with other stores inside. This one, on the border of Herricks and Williston Park on Long Island, became a drive-up flower shop
