Jews are living Alibag has more than 1000 to 1200 years. They have contributed to Alibag community in many ways; they were the first owners of mechanical rice mills, soda factories and ice-cream making machines. Olden time they had animal drawn oil-mills. Most of them were Wadi owners. Many of them served in Chatrapati Shivajee Maharaje’s army. Latter in Alibag Municipal Corporation. There are still some Jewish families in Alibag.
