Every year on the third to fourth Sunday of December, fair takes place in this flat land. During that period, Indian citizens can go to visit this lake within the jurisdiction of Myanmar, by simply obtaining a pass from the BSF checkgate situated at Pangsau pass (Indian side) on the recommendation of Fair organizing authority of Nampong village of India, Getting pass is very simple. The condition is that, the Indian citizens must return back to Indian land within the same day.
Everyone can have the fun of boating in the lake, have their food with traditional Myanmar cuisine, roam here and there by the side of the lake.
The fair is organized in the memory of the 700 year old treaty of the Ahom king Sudangfaa (Bamuni Raja) of Assam and Myanmar King Suhunfaa (Surunfaa) on the bank of this lake during 1402 AD (1323 Shaka Samvat).
