Constructed in 1907 Sterling Engine Co. the two story building was expanded to the south by 1925. An additional building was constructed on Breckenridge Street in 1923. The manufacturer of marine engines was purchased by Philips Petroleum in the 1950s and moved to Paola Kansas.
