mine, production
A former very rich lead-zinc-silver mine that was operated by Cominco from 1965 until 1988. A large town was built to house the families, and the Great Slave Lake Railway line was built from northern Alberta. Ore was mined from numerous open pits throughout the area.
When the mine closed, the town was demolished and the rails were removed.
A new company is exploring the area and hopes to reopen the mines in near future.
