A hanging glacier on the northern slope of Mount Ronti, which on February 7, 2021, moved completely into the canyon of the Rishi Ganga River, which flows into Dhauli Ganga, and caused a devastating mudslide.
The unfinished dam of the Tapovan Vishnugad Hydropower Plant together with the staff and builders was demolished.
About 200 people went missing. 16 workers were rescued from the silted underground structures of the destroyed hydroelectric power station.
Rescuers are trying to clear the second tunnel of underground hydraulic structures to save about 30 more blocked workers.
