archaeological site, ancient ruins
Polizzello or Mognagna di Polizzello is the archaeological site northeast of Mussomeli in Sicily. The site included both a town and an acropolis (citadel), which has been the main area of archaeological study. The site features Bronze-Age tombs and the remains of an Iron-Age settlement of the Sicans, including a small temple and the so-called "House of Temenos" within the Acropolis.
