Small public park in New Britain's downtown area. The centerpiece of the park is a Beaux-Arts style U.S. Civil War monument erected in 1900. The monument was designed by noted New York architect Ernest Flagg. Central Park shares a listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) with the historic City Hall complex located just across the street, and is considered a contributing element of the Downtown New Britain Historic District.
