Unincorporated town of Weyers Cave, Virginia (24486)

Weyers Cave is the proud home of two stoplights, 2000 people, about 10,000 cows and 100,000 chickens. It is the birthplace of the Future Farmers of America. It was originally named because it was the closest train stop to the Weyers Caves about seven miles to the east, now named Grand Caverns located in Grottoes. Located halfway between Harrisonburg and Staunton on Interstate 81, it remains small but is growing rapidly. Notable locations in Weyers Cave include the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, Blue Ridge Community College, Rocky's Gold and Silver, a Police Training Center, several large trucking terminals, several industries such as Pepsi and Degesch Chemical, a large public Community Center and Ruritan Park with softball and soccer fields, and the old schoolhouse, now on the National Register of Historic Places. Community spirit is very strong in Weyers Cave, and civic clubs such as the Ruritans, Lions, Volunteer Fire Department, and Weyers Cave Women's Club thrive.
