Busan Citizens Park History Museum, formerly the Officers’ Club was built in 1949, years after the establishment of the Korean government, used to be part of the Seomyeon Racetrack and a U.S. Military Base.
In the wake of the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, the Busan Base Command (Camp Hialeah) was established and this building was used as its Officers’ Club where U.S. officers dined and held banquets, and other official events. It is now the Busan Citizens Park History Museum displaying the quintessential history of the entire area.
