This large sandbar extends across the end of Dingle Bay from Inch until it nearly meets Glenbay on the southern coast. At lower tides you can take your car onto the beach, but drivers are often caught by a swift incoming tide that makes the sand too soft to drive on, a helpful local farmer will help with a tow (for a fee). There is carparking, a cafe, and some holiday homes. The former hotel still opens as a bar in the season. The landward side of the sandbar provides a calmer sea that is fished for seafood.

A great place to stop enroute to the West of Dingle, or to spend a day walking along the extensive beach. Often windy, so a picnic can be rather 'gritty', but a great place to fly a kite.

The horse drawn caravans overnight in a nearby field, along their circular route from Tralee.
