Lyle is a city in section 36 of Lyle Township, Mower County, Minnesota. The population was 551 at the 2010 census. The Minnesota-Iowa state line is the southern border of the city.

Lyle was platted in 1870, and incorporated in 1875. The post office was established in 1862, but operated under the name Minnereka from 1870-71. It reverted to Lyle in 1871, and was also known as Lyle Center. It had a rail station serving several lines, including the Chicago Great Western Railroad.

The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad served Lyle from 1866 until 1980, with a line now operated by the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern.
