A series of buildings of the former Mariinskaya Hospital. In the courtyard of the hospital is a church built to have the look of medieval architecture that has miraculously been preserved (1901). Further, up to Second Khvostov Pereulok (lane) where the Polyanka metro station is on the corner, are two-story small houses with traces of trading premises on the ground floor (stores, storerooms and flour shops). That’s the only thing that is left of the famous Polyansky marketplace that was there for more than 150 years-from 1775 to 1935.
