Glencoe's been served by a rail station of some sort since 1854, when the Great Western Railway opened its line linking London to Windsor. The sixth, and current, station dates to 1904 and has been lovingly preserved as a shining example of Queen Anne Revival architecture.

The station purchased the old red caboose from Colosanti's Tropical Gardens near Leamington, which has an equally colourful history!

The caboose was built originally as Grand Trunk Railway box car #18184 by Canadian Car and Foundry in November of 1910. It later became CN box car #340884. In 1979, it was rebuilt as Caboose #75896. By 1985 (but most likely a year or two earlier), it would be sold to a McDonald's restaurant in Leamington as the Birthday Caboose. In 1994, it would be relocated to Colosanti's Tropical Gardens, where it would remain until 2001.
