THE GURUDWARA SAHIB OF BABA ZORAWAR SINGH JI HAD A SMALL WELL FROM WHERE WATER WAS DRAWNED FROM SMALL CONTAINERS CALLED 'TINNAND' ,PEOPLE HAVE CLOSED THAT I THINK PEOPLE OF THE VILLAGE HAVE FORGETTEN THIER PAST. MAY BABA ZORAWAR SINGH JI MAKE THEM WISE .

  • KHIZRABAD (30°52`N, 76°39`E), an old village in the interior of Ropar district of the Punjab, claims a historical shrine, Gurdwara Damdama Sahib, commemorating the visit of Guru Gobind Singh in 1688 when he was returning from Paonta to Anandpur via Raipur Ram and Man! Majra. An old pipaltree marks the site where the Guru had stayed. A Gurudwara has been raised recently by the local sangat. Another shrine near by honours the memory of Baha Zorawar Singh (not Sahib/.ada Zorawar Singh, the Guru`s third son). This Zorawar Singh was [lie son of Bhai Natthu, a carpenter of BassT Pathanari. His mother being Mata Jito`s domestic maid, he was brought up in Guru Gobind Singh`s household and was held in deep affection by him. According to the BhattVahTs, he was wounded in the battle of Ghamkaur, but survived the injuries and escaped to Kotia Niharig Khan and later to Khizrabad. He rejoined Guru Gobind Singh in Rajasthan and was killed in a skirmish at Ghittorgarh on 6 Baisakh 1765 Bk/3 April 1708. The shrine at Khi/rabad, called Dehra Baba Zorawar Singh, is an old building comprising a square sancluni, wilh a circumambulatory passage and wide vcrandah all around. The ceiling and walls of this building arc painted with floral designs and murals depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. The Guru Granth Sahib is seated in the sanctum and an annual fair is held here from old era.   • I think First Engineer from the village is incorrect . Since I Mohinder Pal Singh Padam also from Khizarabad , I Did Engineering From RECK( Now NIT) Kurukshetra (Electronic and tele comn ) joined 1972 and finished in 1977 probably when there were only three Engg colleges in punjab PEC, GNEC, THAPAR and Agri Engg in Agri UNIV Ludhiana,and SLIET was not even thought off , I am from Khizarabad (Nichli Patti). Please correct your data
