Former silversmith shop which was built in 1686 for Captain Elias Pelletreau who was a famous colonial gold and silversmith and Revolutionary War patriot, established his goldsmith and silversmith shop on Main St in Southampton shortly after completing his apprenticeship in 1748. His son, John, and grandson, William, practiced the same craft in this shop. Restored and maintained by the Southampton Colonial Society and the Southampton Historical Museum. Today you will find Eric Messin, resident jeweler and silversmith, practicing his art in the very same shop.
