The Wayside Inn, newly remodeled in 2007 and under new ownership, is a nice restaurant offering fine dining in Berthoud, as well as a comfortable lounge with pool table, darts, and a full bar. The remodel in 2007 added hardwood floors and a beautiful central stone fireplace to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Note: no overnight accommodations are available, this is strictly a restaurant. See the Berthoud Bed and Breakfast for overnight stays.

The original Wayside Inn was a landmark in Berthoud. First opened in the 1920s as a true Inn to motorists on the new state highway through town, the restaurant operated continuously for almost 70 years, until burning down in a huge fire in the late 1990s. It was rebuilt at the original site in 1997. The restaurant is known throughout the region for its fried chicken, although new management as of 2007 has made an effort to improve and augment the menu with more diverse and appealing options.
