60 Wall Street Atrium (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / New York City, New York
public meeting point, atrium, interesting place, Greek Revival (architecture), postmodern (architecture)

Privately-owned public space which is provided as a 24-hour amenity for the public's use. It was designed by Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo & Associates in 1989 as an extension of the Postmodern Greek Revival-esque columned facade with marble, trelliswork, mirrors and marble grids. During the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011, it was used as the meeting place for the movement's mutual aid working groups to collaborate.

Decorating the lobby are a few of the pieces from ArtWorks, the Deutsche Bank Global Art Program: “Abstraktes Bild (Faust)” by Gerard Richter, “To Don Judd, Colorist" by Dan Flavin, and a selection of rotating pieces from young artists. In June 2019, “Abstraktes Bild (Faust)” by Gerard Richter, which is worth up to $30mil, was removed from public display.
