Delavan is a city in section 36 of Delavan Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. The population was 179 at the 2010 census.

Delavan was settled in 1856, and organized in 1858 under the name of Guthrie. THe name was changed to Delavan in 1872 to match that of the railway village in section 36 which had been platted 1870. The village was incorporated in 1877, and separated from the township in 1917. The post office began as Delavan Station in 1870.

Delavan was served by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad from 1870 until 1985, with a line now operated by the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern.
